Capcom Values Game Quality, Feels the Need for More Development Time

Capcom owns a multiple of game IPs, but what gamers can see in recent years are only several of them showing up repeatedly. Some showed up at very low frequency. Good news is Capcom has realized this problem and is willing to change it in the future, while it also expressed that game quality is the highest priority, even to achieve with delayed release.

At the annual financial earnings call, Capcom said they has lots of console IPs with low utilization rate, as they only worked on several ones. That situation will be changed in the future.

As for the relation between game quality and release date, Capcom believes "for games to be hits at the global level, they must be high quality. Accordingly, we feel it's better to give a little more time to development than before, and have made slight adjustments to our portfolio," said Capcom CEO Kenzo Tsujimoto.
