CDPR’s game director for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Konrad Tomaszkiewicz accepted an interview from Eurogamer.
Blood and Wine is the final expansion of The Witcher 3, and CDPR will move on to their next game Cyberpunk 2077. Although The Witcher 3 is a large game, the developer will stop updating for it but a new patch will come out before the release of Blood and Wine, game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz confirmed. The game patch will be published continuously.
After The Witcher 3 released last year, it has been well received by the players in industry. We thanked everything that Poland brought to players. The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine land on PS4, Xbox One and PC on May 31.
The Witcher 3 shipped around 10 million copies worldwide, and most importantly, it was widely praised in game industry and won many game of the year awards including TGA and GDC. Obviously The Witcher franchise means a lot to CDPR.
"Personally I hope that someday in the future we will do something more because I love the setting and I work on The Witcher games around 12 years right now," Tomaszkiewicz said. "But I don't know what we will decide. The strategy plan they've got they will share with us soon. We'll see."
The Witcher 3 marks the end of Geralt’s story, so if there’s a fourth Witcher game, could it be the adventure of Ciri? Anyway, let’s wait for more about Cyberpunk 2077 first.
